Why not come to New York City for Independence Day on the 4th of July? Last year's celebration was great. There were street parades with marching bands that played patriotic music and people dressed up like Uncle Sam. America flags flew everywhere. We ate hot dogs and watermelon. Delicious! Later, we saw many sailing ships in the harbor and watched fireworks light up the sky o'er the Statue of Liberty.
Don't forget St. Patrick's Day! It's on March 17th. I really like the celebrations here in Chicago because the whole city goes crazy! Last year, many people wore green clothes, shamrocks, and painted their faces. My friends and I danced in the street as we watched the big parade. My mother's Irish and she made Irish stew. It was soon good!
My favorite holiday is Halloween. It's on the 31st of October. My brother and I love to carve pumpkins and dress up in scary costumes. Last year, I was a monster with green face. We went trick-or-treating all over our neighborhood here in Buffalo. We brought home a bucket full of candy! You should come see for yourself. There are so many fun things to do on Halloween!
