So when it comes to this topic, which is about my favourite talk that I find interesting, the first thing that just pops up in my mind at the present is the one with my very first friend at university. I do not know why but it is the only thing that I can remember to share today. My friends and I first knew each other in the Accounting class, my favourite lesson at university. Until now, due to our matching personalities, we still try to have and organise the same schedule and classes so that we can stay in the same group and work together.
I still remember vividly this one time, in the first session of the course, the professor asked us to solve a case, just a simple one. Since I love Maths, so it only took me a couple of seconds to figure out how to solve it, like a piece of cake actually. As a result, I thought that I would have more time to take a short break. But when I was about to finish, my friend was still struggling with the task. You know, it was kinda hilarious due to his clumsy behaviour and even a bit silly moment.
So I decided to help him, and you know, also made a new friend too. After dealing with that exercise and helping him understand the whole task, we had a short break to talk together. And I found out that attending this university was not easy for him. Unlike me, who has always been passionate about business since I was a kid, my family had encouraged me a lot to follow it. He is also similar to me, loves everything about the business, but his parents had not allowed him to decide for himself; instead, they forced him to choose a medical university just because they always think doctors are the best job.
But luckily, he had proved his abilities which are suitable for business rather than medicine so that he could choose which path to follow. At first, he told me that he just disobeyed whatever his parents had said. However, it did not work as well. Therefore, he tried to find another way. He started to let his parents watch some movies relating to family issues because he thought his parents would know what will happen if his parents prohibit him from following what he likes. Then, he showed his parents some famous people in the business field, especially people in Shark Tank Viet Nam. Gradually, it worked. His parents were no longer strict with him, which meant they let him follow his dream. That is why we could become a close friend at university.
The time for conversation was up and we had to go back to class. At that time, I was still kinda impressed since I had not met anyone whose passion is so big. Frankly speaking, if someday he becomes successful, I hope he still remembers who helped him on his first day at university.
