Subject: A summer holiday
Hello Nan,
It's nice to see you again. I'm sorry that I couldn't write a reply to you soon when you sent me an email two weeks ago. I was really busy as I had to prepare for my first semester exam. And now, I can have time to reply to you.
In the last email, you told me that you had had an incredible summer holiday at Hawaii and Parkistan, hadn't you? I was really amazed to hear you describe the scenes of the beauty spots there and my stomach seemed to shout loudly when you told me about the foods and drinks that you had a chance to enjoy. It was so great. I'd love to have an opportunity to visit those places like you.
Last summer, I also had a fabulous vacation with my family. Can you guess where we traveled to? Not faraway, it was my hometown, Hue. Maybe Hue is such a familiar name to the foreigner tourist like you, Nan. I guess that you also know a lot about Hue, right? Because it took to much time to travel by train or railway so my parents decided to buy some plane tickets so it just took us about 3 hours to fly from HCM City to Phu Bai airport. Then because we were to exhausted, we took a four-room taxi along the Main Road to my grandmother's house. When we got there, it was 6 p.m. We thought that everybody had had eaten dinner because it was late but, because of being amazed waiting for us, my relatives including my sisters, brothers, uncles and aunts still sat and waited for a long time but they didn't complain anything.We were really glad and then, we had dinner together and went straight to sleep.
We decided to stay there for 2 weeks. On the first day of the first week, I wandered around the Hue citadel with my sisters and brothers. We took a lot of photos and we also asked the guard to let us try on the king and queen's clothes. We looked beautiful and very pleased. My brother acted exactly like King Tu Duc. He was really good at History. He said that Tu Duc King was his favourite character in the past. The net days, we went to the supermarket and the wet market to buy some food and visited the Perfume River. I was so lucky that I had a chance to hear people sing the ancient songs that we often call cai luong, ca tru. We ate tofu too.
In the second week, we started to invent games. We played a lot of games like Hide-and-seek, Fight pretendingly in the battle, Bike-racing, Gun-making and so on. We also swam in the Perfume River. It was very deep so that we had to be really careful. We enjoyed a lot of delicious food like: bot loc cake, phu thue cake and Hue beef noodle soup. It was tasty.
When we returned home, I really missed my sweet memories so I would study well and persuade my mother to let me return back to my hometown again.
