So when it comes to this topic, which is about one of the most memorable lessons that I used to have, the first thing that just pops up in my mind at the present is my very first lesson about pronunciation. If I am not mistaken, the time I joined this class was about four months ago; I guess because I do not remember the exact time clearly. It was the very first class about IELTS after a long time, and I had ignored my study.
A little bit about myself, I have to admit that I was not confident much about my speaking skill because I was evaluated as a boy with no talent in English. In the first class, the teacher gave us some words and asked us to pronounce those. At first, everyone thought it would be a piece of cake since they were all the words we use every day, like “women or island” and something like that. But when he said we mispronounced all of that, I was kinda surprised since I did not expect that I had pronounced them wrong every day. From that moment, my level of confidence kept decreasing.
Luckily, it was just a small test to show our ability at that time. Then, the teacher started his lesson with some jokes or tips; these ways made me can even memorise more quickly and effectively. It was a kinda unique and novel way for me to practice speaking, so his first lesson was so intriguing for me. Then, I was all ears and paid all attention throughout the lesson. After that lesson, I could gain back my confidence so that I could be fully equipped with all the necessary skills in the first class.
Thanks to all his feedback about my basic mistakes that day, I can change my mindset about pronunciation. And now, I am here with my high level of confidence and a well-prepared knowledge, I hope that I still have a positive impression on you.
