In my opinion, there are several causes for the pollution in Ho Chi Minh City. First of all, we have established a lot of factories, which prove to be the roots of pollution. The pollution in some areas has reached such a level that it has caused serious social and economic consequences.

According to related data, the death rate from lung cancer in urban areas is increasing annually. In the past few years, the economic losses arising from the flood and deforestation have caused a lot of damage to our country. So, we should correctly handle the between the environment and development during economic operations, rificing the environment to short-term economic growth.

There are several hazards that we should not neglect. First of all, some people have not realized the importance of environmental protection. They just ignore the sign "Keep off the grass” and play on the newly planted grass or just throw their rubbish away on the street. Due to water pollution caused by industrial waste, more and more fish have died in recent years. In winter, air pollution is so serious that many flights are cancelled or delayed due to the thick fog, or smog. Many farmers in this area are burning straws in the fields. The smoke mixed with fog simply makes the runway invisible. The earth is becoming warmer and warmer because of the excessive use of fossil fuels. In many less developed areas, water supplies will become increasingly erratic by 2050 as a result of extensive deforestation. Finally, the greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide increase has become a grave environmental problem and is attracting more and more attention in the world.

The Vietnamese government has taken some effective measures to improve our living environment. In order to preserve water and soil and to improve the ecological environment, people are taking the opportunity of the Great Western Development Programme to push forward the programmes of returning the cultivated land to forest or pasture, and natural forest protection. The Vietnamese government has also made great efforts to stop severe soil erosion, for example, through the afforestation programme in the upper reaches of the Red River and upper and middle reaches of the Mekong Delta Rivers. I have to authenticate that they are making great efforts to protect the environment. You can see a lot of changes in Ho Chi Minh city. The municipal government has financed a lot of programmes to beautify the city. You can also feel the changes in the city centre where there is more greenery and planting than before, as the government has also raised the awareness of the public of the importance of planting more trees and grass.

First of all, as one of the principal parts of terrestrial ecosystems and as a fundamental resource for human existence, forests are of great ecological value. And forests provide habitats for a variety of life on Earth, improve human living space and conserve biodiversity. A very effective method of environmental protection is to raise the utilization rate of energy and to change the energy consumption structure. To protect biodiversity, Vietnam will expand the areas of natural reserves and strengthen its management and control of rare species of wildlife and plants. Many countries are now trying to save endangered animals from extinction.

There are various reasons why we should strive to live a more environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyle. The cornerstone for preserving our planet, communities, and economy is environmental protection. Our ecosystems are supported and housed by our surroundings, which allows them to flourish and thrive. Our environment's ecosystems are intricately linked. To protect our ecosystem, we must protect them all. After all, we live in nature and rely on it to meet our basic human needs. If we do not protect our environment, the life of humans, animals, plants, and others will be jeopardized. Not only the government, I think everyone should contribute to environmental protection. There are a number of modest things you can do in your daily life to help safeguard the environment. It all starts with being conscious. You will understand why it is critical to take action once you are aware of your impact. Your actions will almost certainly have an impact on others around you. The majority of the steps I've mentioned are beneficial to both the environment and you. Here are a few additional ways you may contribute to environmental protection:

• Reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible. Rather than throwing away a shipment box as soon as you open it, you may reuse it to organize your storage. Finding ways to minimize, reuse, and recycle resources in your daily life can help safeguard the environment.
• Invest in reusable grocery bags to avoid using plastic shopping bags, which affect the environment. Most reusable bags are more robust than plastic bags and can hold greater weight. This can make bagging groceries or purchasing new goods easier.
• Reusable water bottles can keep your drinks colder for longer while also minimizing the amount of single-use plastic you consume. Plastic bottles are a clear example of environmental pollution. This plastic pollution has the potential to harm humans, animals, and plants. Plastic takes hundreds or thousands of years to degrade, making it incredibly hazardous to our environment.
• Avoid using paper and instead, use your mobile device or computer to take notes. Using less paper is a terrific approach to help the environment.
• Walk, cycle, or carpool wherever possible for an alternate mode to avoid having to pollute and cut emissions.
• Use renewable energy: Take advantage of renewable energy sources such as solar panels or wind power. Renewable energy does not produce greenhouse gas emissions, ultimately reducing air pollution. The less electric energy you use, the less you rely on carbon-intensive power plants that emit carbon dioxide. 
• Save water: Whether you are a student or not, you can help the environment by conserving water. Water can be saved by taking simple steps like turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth. As a student, you may find it difficult to juggle school, employment, and personal obligations, putting you in a rush most days. Take a moment to calm down and consider whether there are any simple strategies to conserve water in your regular routine.

The earth we abuse and the living things we kill will, in the end, take their revenge; by exploiting the present, we are diminishing our future. So, we should use sustainable and biodegradable materials instead of disposable materials, and avoid using fossil fuels, which can cause damage to our environment. Finally, we should increase people's awareness of environmental protection

Besides, I'm not an expert on a popular topic nowadays - global warming, but I have heard quite a lot of such discussion on TV programmes and other people's talking. I think it was mainly caused by the waste gasses exhausted from chemical factories and vehicles. It is said that the ice caps of the north and south poles will be melted and the sea level will be raised. As a result, some seaside cities and small islands will be covered by seawater. There is no easy solution to prevent global warming. As far as I know, global warming is caused by the greenhouse effect, which results from too much carbon dioxide in the air. I think that the government should take care of the transportation system and we should try to replace fossil fuels with new, clean energy resources.

The word ‘pollution’ means to make dirty or impure which is harmful. Thus, environmental pollution means the pollution of our environment that happens every day. It happens mostly in cities and industrial towns. Their air pollution occurs because of smoke. Any kind of smoke does it. Smoke from mills and factories, motor vehicles and other sources is mainly responsible for it. Again, water in the seas, rivers and canals is poisoned because of the various wastes we throw into them. Insecticides used in crop fields are often washed away into them by rain water. Mills and factories, on the banks of the river, often throw poisonous chemicals into the river water and pollute it. All sorts of sound from microphones, radios, televisions, etc. cause pollution in the environment. This tells upon our hearing and general health. We all should try to develop a civic sense amongst ourselves about it and bring a check to this pollution in our own interest.
