In recent years, whether college students should start up a business while still being undergraduate or not still remains a controversial phenomenon. Some people believe that it brings multiple benefits, but others claim that its drawbacks are hard to ignore. This essay will elucidate an account of the reasons why the pros overshadow the cons of this phenomenon.
On the one hand, there may be some noticeable drawbacks for students beginning their own business while studying. Pupils can neglect their courses at school to pay more attention and effort to their work. As they have to carry out many projects every day, they will have to deal with a hectic schedule. In other words, having a business will occupy the time they spend on studying. Consequently, they will delay their graduation, which affects the time when they can do a full-time job. Besides, this phenomenon may influence the health of pupils. Dealing with multiple tasks will make the students have no time to rest. Gradually, their both physical and mental health condition may be lowered. As a result, both study and work productivity will be impacted adversely.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that starting up at the student age could bring a lot of benefits for the students. One obvious advantage is the experience that could be gained. As they could go through real-life cases, they could apply them to practice. Therefore, the students could quickly climb up their career ladder and achieve high academic results at school. Moreover, they could figure out their own interests. Through early exposure to first-hand experience, students can freely come across and determine what they like and who they want to be. Hence, right after graduating, they could immediately choose the job that they like, along with their experience gained previously, they could easily occupy that position with a handsome salary.
To sum up, while having an early business has many drawbacks, it is still beneficial for the students. For these aforementioned reasons, I wholeheartedly believe that the advantages could completely outweigh the disadvantages of this phenomenon.
