Celebrations, in my perspective, allow us to commemorate something significant in our lives and share our joy with others we care about.
So when it comes to this topic, which is about an event that I happily organised, the first one that just pops up in my mind at the present is the time that I threw a surprise party for my mom’s birthday last January, just about a few months ago.
My mom usually does not celebrate any party for her, she just cares about her husband and children so hardly ever I could see a party just for her. So I decided to give her a surprise party on her birthday. As usual, she leaves home at 7 in the early morning and comes home at 5 in the afternoon. That means we had nearly a day to prepare for this party.
I encountered some difficulties at the beginning because I had no prior experience. Then I enlisted the assistance of my siblings. There was a lot to accomplish, including cooking, organizing bonding activities, and purchasing decorations. And I was in charge of decorating, which included purchasing items and creating a pleasant atmosphere. My brother was in charge of the food and beverage preparation. Last but not least, my sister was in charge of some activities for everyone to enjoy.
Although there were tons of things to do, we still finished on time. And when my mom got home after a long day working at the company, she was struck by all the things that we had prepared so far. And obviously, she ended up moving into tears. Also, my dad, the one who hardly ever expressed feelings to everyone, was also moved and burst into tears because he could see that his children were very emotional to notice others’ feelings, especially his wife. And it was such an amazing experience for me and my siblings.
Overall, it was a wonderful time for all my family members. It was one of the most successful events that I have ever organised given that my parents would never forget that day. Thanks for this topic that reminds me about that blast.
