Agree view:
It is a widespread belief that receiving high remuneration is much more of great importance than having job fulfilment. Notwithstanding the fact that being satisfied at work is the intrinsic motivation to be promoted in your career path, I still consent to the idea that handsome salaries should be prioritized.
Admittedly, those who choose to pursue contentment at work get to have a myriad of benefits. First and foremost, what they are doing is their true passion. Their positions allow them to make the most of their abilities and talents. Demonstrating such a strong adoration for their job, and their superiors, hence, might open more opportunities for them to learn new things and upgrade themselves, which can facilitate them to have a future promotion prospect. Moreover, a fulfilling job means they have a preferable working environment. Being appreciated and cared about at work can make them feel more respected, which can drive their commitment to the organization and they could be alacritous to contribute more. From the perspective of an employer, they tend to keep the turnover rate low by retaining more loyal talents. That, therefore, can save a significant amount of money allocated for training new staff.
On the other hand, in case they are not accomplished in their best-loved job and have to suffer from a host of professional factors, opting for a position of employment that they have the most capability to carry would be the optimal selection. To begin with, they basically all need money to survive. To be more specific, they have to put food on the table, fend for themselves and support their family; besides, a multitude of physical requirements for quality could be actualized. Remuneration, accordingly, is the top priority of someone seeking a job. On the one hand, it is obvious that the amount of salary they receive is proportional to their value of the profession and the level of their employers’ appreciation for them. In other words, it depends on how much contribution they put into the company, since employees are paid based on their performance and the profit they can bring. They can even obtain a number of fringe benefits, such as getting to drive a company’s car, and many other criteria pertain to job fulfilment. Therefore, high remuneration is a dynamic factor to forces employees to enhance their proficiency and productivity.
To recapitulate, it is totally agreeable that job satisfaction is a wonderful choice of working, especially when employees are having great performances in their job. However, I am still a strong advocate of them basing their future career on a more realistic premise, since they can gradually be into what they are doing great at.
Disagree view:
In recent years, some claim that lucrative income is prioritised more than contentment in the working place. However, in my perspective, I totally disagree and believe that job pleasure needs to be the first concern for the workers. This essay will explain some reasons for my view as follow.
On the one hand, there are a host of reasons why people rank payment as the first criterion when finding a job. Firstly, money can be one of the most crucial needs for our survival. It means the high wage can help the employees fend for themselves independently since it can cover almost daily expenses. Moreover, it will alleviate the financial burden for the family as they no longer have to rely on their family. As a result, the workers can work harder to achieve a high level of salary. Secondly, this can be a significant motivation for the employees to work. Due to the modern salary calculation system, the company can quickly evaluate and pay the workers by the exact efforts they contribute. Therefore, they can be motivated and can boost productivity as well as efficiency of the work.
On the other hand, many believe job satisfaction should be the concern first before the salary because there are a few jobs with a high starting income. Therefore, people could seek a job that is their true passion. By working in the appropriate position, the employees could make use of this opportunity to enhance their related skills and knowledge in that field. Consequently, the more they could be experts, the more stable job they could remain. Moreover, job contentment also includes the facilities and colleagues in the working space. These factors would help the workforce increase the commitment to the company. Thus, this would lead to the fact that they could have more opportunities to get promotions to climb their career ladder.
In summary, due to some aforementioned reasons that I have provided for this statement, there are two possible lines of thought about this phenomenon. However, I still emphasise that people should consider job satisfaction as the core value of the job instead of how lucrative the income is.
