Task: Describe one of your friend’s birthdays.
So when it comes to this topic, which is about the birthday of one of my friends that I joined, the first one that just pops up in my mind at the present is one of my very best friends. If I am not mistaken, it was about 3 or 4 years ago. I am not sure about it because it was a long time ago, so I cannot remember what the exact time was.
I guess it was a time when we first met each other when we first started sitting together in grade 10. At first, to be honest, I did not know anyone in class while others had already known due to the fact that I had studied together in middle school. Therefore, I just sat in a corner and tried to shy away from other mates, while others were talking together. However, I did not know why but one guy came to me and asked me whether the next seat was available or not. I was kinda surprised because of him, but I still tried to keep smiling and said that it was okay if he sat next to me. Then, after a few times sitting and playing together, we became closer than ever before; as a result, we actually became best friends of each other.
Then, at the end of the year, his birthday came. He was born exactly on Christmas Day. At first, we kinda wondered if we should separate them into different days or not, but then, I decided to celebrate them on the same day, so I have to say that it was one of the big parties that I have ever joined, given that all of his friends, his family members, as well as his relatives, were all invited. And of course, I was also invited to join, obviously.
The birthday party was celebrated as a buffet restaurant where a lot of kinds of food were served for everyone to enjoy. Frankly speaking, I loved all of them. I even asked him who was the one making all of this, and then I surprisedly knew that his mom was in charge of all those dishes. I really admired her talent and all the efforts that she had put in so far. Moreover, I also was struck by the decoration around his house. It was really lovely in the colours blue and white, which are also his favourite colours. Looking at them made me think of the deep ocean but in a little version. Hence, it was very unique to most people and me to see them.
Then, I finally saw him but I almost did not realise him the first time. Normally, I just saw him in the school uniform or sometimes in the casual clothes when we hung out together. However, at the party, he was putting on a black suit, which made him really gentle despite the black colour. It took me a few seconds to realise and call him. When he saw me, he was really happy and welcomed me to his party. After that, I gave him my present and said that I hoped he would like it.
Honestly, I spent a week thinking of what I should give him because he almost had everything. Then, I decided to do it by myself, a handmade gift, because I thought it would be more valuable. It was a clay tray, just simply like that, and I thought he could use it to put on his food and drink if he wanted to move it anywhere. But the thing that I could not foresee was that he really loved it. Usually, he would put every gift on the same table at the party, but for my gift, he thanked me and right away brought it to his room. I was really surprised and moved when seeing that.
For the rest of the party, just like other ones, we would enjoy the meal, play the game together, and see the performance of his friends. Everything was great, so I still have a strong impression of it. Luckily, we still keep in touch, although he has migrated to another country to live. We have promised to each other that we will meet in the near future. And there are a lot of things that we want to do together. As a result, I am really happy to have a friend like him. I hope that we will be friends for the rest of my life.
