We are a part of society. When a society was created, rules and regulations were created for that society. Some laws and regulations are created by the government, while others are created by the nation's citizens. This comprises regulations required for human survival in a healthy state. Some of our rights enable us to live in harmony. Like adults, children have some rights that are referred to as child rights.

Despite significant advancement over the past few decades, millions of children still lack access to their fundamental rights. These days, phrases like harassment and child labor are becoming widespread. Because they are more likely to be used or mistreated, children also have a right to further protection. Every kid should be provided for by their family and the community so that they can experience a full childhood. They require a setting free from violence where they have the chance to develop and succeed just like other children. The environment has a big impact on a child's health and development. India is home to more than a billion people, many of whom are children. It is the nation with the most children. They play a significant role in society. They require some fundamental rights to live in peace, just as other people.

Every kid has the essential rights necessary for their healthy development and growth, which are known as child rights. Children have the right to human identity and the right to live with their parents. Additionally, they have a right to bodily defense, food, education, healthcare, and just criminal laws for their way of life. Additionally, children have the right to equal protection under the law and to not suffer any forms of discrimination based on their gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or skin color.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted by the League of Nations, which subsequently evolved into the UN, following World War I. It covered the rights to justice, peace, freedom of expression, and religion, as well as the rights to life, food, housing, and education. The "United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child" attempted to protect children against abuse for the first time in 1959. It produced ten principles. Numerous nations have ratified the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Numerous rights are granted to children under this treaty. To ensure that children's rights are upheld, it is crucial to abide by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Children have a far greater chance of growing up in society when their rights are upheld. Children suffer grave injuries in large numbers during battle. Children frequently have to labor in hazardous and unhealthy environments. They end up lacking all abilities and not being able to read or write. As a result, many turn to crime. They will be shielded by these rights from the many forms of abuse they could experience during their life.

The future of the planet lies with children. They are the ones who can contribute to the nation's development and advancement. Therefore, it is critical to safeguard each child's rights. Children often have to struggle with unhealthy living conditions, inadequate medical treatment, a lack of access to clean housing and water, and environmental harm. Children are abandoned on the streets and without a decent place to live as a result of all of these things. They are the world's most fragile resource. In a secure setting where children's rights are upheld, they can develop to their utmost potential. The right to a decent education, good health, and adequate nourishment should thus be guaranteed to them.

According to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international law encompasses children's rights. All children should be treated with fairness, equality, and dignity, according to this. The UN General Assembly declared these rights to be universal, so anybody who treats children unfairly or abuses them can be held accountable.

Below is a list of some essential children's rights:

  • Right to survival, right to education
  • Participation rights
  • Rights to growth, health, and protection against violence
  • The right to a family
  • freedom of opinion
  • the right to protection against exploitation

Children's rights are their basic human rights, with a particular emphasis on their rights to opportunity and safety. They have a life just as grownups do. People ought to respect the rights of children and abide by the law. Every child is entitled to life on this planet. Children must be able to exercise their rights, and the government must ensure this. In addition, we must ensure that we take every precaution to safeguard the most defenseless members of our community. We can protect them from injury, forced labor, and conflict. They may create a brighter future for themselves and the next generations with our assistance.
