Recently, some people claim there would not be many benefits for a country when its students travel to other countries to pursue education. But in my perspective, a country can significantly reap benefits from this phenomenon. This essay will explain some reasons for my view as follow.
On the one hand, it is believed that the nations will not be able to enjoy any advantage from this issue. Firstly, due to the modern life and cutting-edge facilities in other countries, students will no longer come back to their hometown and try to find ways to migrate there. This may lead to the lack of domestic labour if this issue becomes a trend. As a result, the countries may have to pay even more money to employ other foreigners to work in their countries. Secondly, the governments cannot afford to upgrade the facilities for their educational system. Since the pupils study in other nations, their tuition fee will be the funding by others instead of their country. Thus, the governments may end up lending more money, which may be converted into debt later, to enhance their educational facilities.
On the other hand, I believe that this phenomenon could be greatly beneficial to the countries. In fact, not many students can be qualified enough to receive long-term residency and permanent citizenship so many of them would have to go back to their home country to pursue their careers. As a result, the nations could apply overseas students’ knowledge gained during the learning period in the developed countries into practice. Consequently, due to the modern and updated knowledge, the country can boost their process of research and develop faster than before. Moreover, the relationship among countries could also be improved remarkably. Students studying abroad could be seen as a cultural exchange between two countries, so they can know more about each other. Therefore, the diplomatic aspect of the countries could be developed and enhanced a lot, which lead to some cooperation between them in the future in many other fields.
In summary, due to the national development and future cooperation, I strongly agree that a nation could significantly take advantage of its pupils learning in other countries.
