There are understandable reasons why some people feel that it is necessary to regulate the level of violence in films and at the cinema. The first reason is that the young children and teenagers can become desensitized to violence and potentially establish either a confrontational way of interacting or, in extreme cases, a pattern of behavior. To be more specific, some young boys tend to imitate violent acts in movies, for example, children choose to get guns and pistols in the form of toys after watching violent films on TV.
Another reason is that there are many platforms that show content related to women harassment which involves molesting a girl, kidnapping, acid attack and a few more no name. This is affecting independent women as many criminals are trying to implement them. For instance, a woman was raped and murdered by a group of 8 men in Delhi, while she is going to work alone, as they got influenced by watching a film that contains rape scenes rape content film.
On the other hand, there are some people who think that violent films should not be regulated. Firstly, violent acts in films are often the scene that impresses and creates a climax for the film. If this action is censored, the film can become boring and less attractive which can reduce its rating and revenue discouragement. Secondly, the majority of individuals have no difficulty distinguishing between fiction and reality. There are some people who have a tendency to like violence, this is a psychological problem. Films with unmasked violence can make them satisfy this tendency without having to do it themselves.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that both sides of the argument have their positive points. However, I’m inclined to believe that the violence on the media screen should be regulated by the government because young children can copy violent acts in films and the number of crimes can increase when target groups try to commit the same violent acts of crime in the movie they watch.
